I just finished reading the SIA Newsletter for the Spring of 2021. This one had a few neat articles, but my favorite article of all was titled, Pouring Iron in Bethlehem Again: The Last Cast, 25 Years Later by Trevor Shellhammer.
The article discussed a recent event where Bethlehem Steel once again poured iron. Not quite in the quantities they used to, but enough so to produce a few iron medallions commemorating the 25th anniversary of their closure of this particular facility. On that day, they poured a few commemorative medallions as well, and there is a great image of the old ones and the new ones side-by-side. The article was written by a metallurgist, so as another metallurgist, I had great appreciation for this article!
Thank you for reading my post.
