I got some helpful feedback on a previous post about the cars that were abandoned in Joshua Tree National Park. The feedback said that one of the abandoned vehicles was a mid 30’s Pontiac, with a split head, where the engine was made by Ferro. Thanks for the feedback!!!
I dug a little deeper on the “Ferro” name. I think Ferro was a motor company who sold primarily marine motors, but then also cast blocks for some of the larger automotive firms, such as Pontiac.
Then, I did a little digging into where I got the name “Jewett” from. It looks like Jewett was another car company who bought Ferro blocks. More importantly, I found this website: http://www.jewettsix.org/ that talks all about the history of the Jewett “Six”.
Thank you for reading my post.
