I renewed my membership to the Society for Industrial Archeology this morning. I also sent in my application to continue as a director for the board. Hopefully, I will be able to continue serving the SIA.
I have been spending time this week laying out my schedule for the semester. I think that I may actually be able to go to the Spring Conference this year. I really want to go- it is in Richmond, not too far from where my parents live, so I will visit them while I am on the tour. I have a few more bugs to work out between now and then, but I think it is do-able.
I have also been toying around with trying to start a southwestern local chapter of the SIA. We investigated this in the past, and saw that we need 12 members. Right now, JoAnna and I are two, plus most of the students that attended the SIA Conference in Colorado Springs now live here in New Mexico. I think we might be able to swing it.
Thank you for reading this post.
