I crossed the US-60 bridge at Bernardo, NM and got to look down on the top of a freight train. I took many pictures, but I thought I’d share a few with you on this blog.
I was a few seconds behind the train, so I was not directly over the locomotive like I’ve done many times before. That is a neat experience- you feel the heat from the diesel exhaust and hear the traction motors rumbling beneath you. Instead, I just got this photo of the sides of the locomotive.
A brave man (or rather a stunt double) would jump down onto these grain cars and run down the walkways to escape the hero/bad guys/police/whomever.
A dumb man would break his legs trying to jump into these gondolas.
…and safely landing on a tank car would be virtually impossible.
NOTE: I am not suggesting you try these, I was merely giving you a description from a story I could write, rather than providing you a challenge. I am not liable for your stupidity.
I hope you enjoyed my post! If you are ever cruising US-60 through New Mexico, perhaps you too will be fortunate enough to see a freight train from above!
