On New Year’s Day 2006, a group of friends and I went into the wilderness and found Rosedale. This marks my first attempt at ghost town exploration and photography, so it brings back memories for me.
Rosedale was a town settled soon after gold was discovered in 1882 (1). The site was subject to Apache raids, but eventually the town grew to a population of about 100 in 1905 (1).
When we toured the site, there were the remains of the mill.
There were also some foundations for the water tanks, which I find cool:
The view from the Rosedale in 2006:
I heard through the rumor mill that the Rosedale site has been reclaimed. I have not confirmed this yet, but hope to over the next year.
