On our way back from Palo Duro Canyon, we briefly cruised through the town of Canyon, TX. Once again, Canyon is not really a ghost town, so much as it is a small town in the lower panhandle of Texas.
I first played around with taking photos of the grain silos in town.
I also took a few photos of the train station. It looks like it is well maintained, but there wasn’t anyone there that Saturday afternoon.
Sunlight was quickly escaping, so we went in search of food. Near the restaurant, there was a fenced off area where WTAMU was tearing down their Old Fine Arts Building. Due to it being late evening on the weekend, it struck me as odd that this building, being violently torn apart, sat peacefully. The last photo is not mine, but I found a photo of the original building on Google maps (1).
