While driving along I-76, we stopped at the Fort Morgan Power Plant in Colorado. I have not been able to find out much about this power plant, other than it was replaced by other power stations in 1952 (1) and that it became listed as a historic site in 1994 (2). Anyway, the building is in great shape and overall, I thought the power plant was beautiful.
There was also a locomotive sitting out front with little information of its origins. I have not found any information on the internet about it.
Also present in the same area was a modern sugar refinery plant. I did not get time to do much exploring at the sugar refinery, but maybe I will get a tour the next time I pass through the area.
